About The Event

Open Words:

Featuring: Chad Goller-Sojourner author of “Riding in Cars with Black People &Other Newly Dangerous Acts” and the nationally acclaimed  “Sitting in Circles with Rich White Girls: Memoirs of a Bulimic Black Boy.” Chad is a wonderful writer, teller and multi media artist.

Kathya Alexander is the author of “Black To My Roots” a hilarious and poignant look at the relationship between Black women and their hair. A bedrock of the StoryTable, she appears this month with her newly earned Masters of Fine Art and a story of an unsung hero.

Olubayo Johnson brings one of her heart-felt tales that bring a smile and gentle tear as she weaves original tales with wit and wisdom.

Auntmama (Mary Anne Moorman) offers a new story of two unknown women who crossed racial boundaries in the service of the sick.

Tunes

Welcome Celestine Berrysmith! A popular jazz singer in Seattle, she wowed us at Madison Park and will do the same at Olive Way. Expect jazzy beats, a touch of gospel and a whole lot of soul.
